Fiat's new entry-level model for South American markets will be sold from April.

The Fiat Uno's replacement was confirmed just last week to be named 'Fiat Mobi'. Known internally under as the 'Fiat X1H', the Fiat Mobi's production-spec interior has been partially revealed in spy shots, courtesy of Autos Segredos. The spy shot suggests that the dashboard architecture is basic, and rightly so given that the car's going to be an economy model that has to be priced aggressively.

The interior should include a modern infotainment system with an LCD display fixed in the centre console.

There's a no-frills 3-spoke steering wheel, a small vertical display in the instrument cluster, vertical HVAC vents in the middle and circular HVAC vents on the sides. There's space for an audio system as well as an infotainment system, but neither is equipped. This seems to be interior of a basic trim and features like steering wheel buttons, audio system/infotainment system and electric windows could be offered in upper-end trims, as shown in the rendering below. The car will come in three variants - Easy, Like and Drive.

Reports say that the front part of the Fiat Mobi's platform is same as that of the Fiat Uno, but the rear part is newly developed. The chassis has been reinforced for more strength, while the windshields, roof stamping and front doors are also sourced from the Fiat Uno.

The Fiat Mobi will be powered by a 1.0-litre engine that produces up to 75 bhp.

Under the bonnet, there would be a 1.0-litre engine that generates 73 bhp (petrol)/75 bhp (ethanol) that feeds power to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. A turbocharged version of this engine is also under consideration.
