Fiat Tipo snapped for the first time in Brazil - Spied
Could be a replacement to the Fiat Grand Siena.
The Fiat Tipo sedan has been snapped in Brazil reportedly in a premises of Fiat. Launched in Turkey and Italy, the Tipo is a replacement to the ageing Fiat Linea that will spawn a hatchback and an estate variant soon. It is manufactured in Turkey by TOFAS, which will export the model to over 40 markets in the EMEA region.
Fiat has announced a successor to the Fiat Grand Siena in 2016 (launch cadence report below), and the Tipo could be that model. In October, a report from Just-Auto stated that the Tipo was expected to be manufactured in Brazil.
The Fiat Tipo is a larger car than the Linea, measuring 4.5 meters in length, 1.78 meters in width, 1.48 meters in height and 2.64 meters in wheelbase. It has a boot volume of 510 litres. It is powered by two petrol engines and two diesel engines.
The 1.4-litre FIRE petrol engine produces 95 PS, the 1.6-litre E-Torq petrol has an output of 110 PS, the 1.3-litre Multijet II turbodiesel motor generates 95 PS and the 1.6-litre Multijet II turbodiesel unit churns out 120 PS of maximum power. The petrol variants get a choice of a six-speed automatic transmission apart from the five-speed manual, and the diesel models can be ordered only with a six-speed manual gearbox.
