Codenamed Fiat X6S.
Fiat Argentina has announced that an investment of 650 million pesos will be made on their Ferreyra plant for the production of a new model, which is codenamed as Fiat X6S.
The Fiat X6S is reported to be the South American-spec Fiat Tipo, which is currently manufactured only in Turkey and announced for sale in EMEA markets (Europe, Middle East and Africa). It will be built alongside the Fiat X6H, which is reported to be the next generation 2016 Fiat Punto that is currently undergoing tests.
The report states that the engine lineup will be different to the one offered for the model sold in EMEA markets. It will pack a 1.4-liter GSE 100 hp or a bigger 1.8 E.torQ with up to 132 hp that will debut in the Fiat Toro. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic (only for the 1.8-liter variant).
