Report - Force Motors plans Gurkha launch/deliveries at Auto Expo

Rushlane has reported that Force Motors has planned marketing activities for the Gurkha at the 2014 Auto Expo, where it will also announce start of sales.

Force Motors had launched the Gurkha in February 2013.

In February last year, the company had relaunched the Gurkha SUV at the Bus and Utility Vehicle Show 2013 at a price of Rs. 6.25 lakhs. Quite strangely, sales hasn't begun till date.

At the 2014 Auto Expo unveiling, Force Motors will debut a new TVC for the Gurkha, a glimpse of which is revealed by PowerDrift in their anniversary video.

The G-Class-based Gurkha is described as India's most capable off-road SUV by outdoor and off-roading enthusiasts. Marketed as the 'Extreme Offroader Vehicle', it is powered by a Mercedes derived 2.6-litre turbocharged intercooled diesel engine which produces 82PS and 230Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with Hi-Lo option on the transfer case.

Other features include differential locks on both front and rear axles, reinforced tubular ladder frame chassis, best in class ground clearance of 210mm and chrome finished stainless steel intake snorkel.

Force Motors had showcased an accessorized version of the Gurkha during its launch.

Force had announced the Gurkha in three variants - Soft top 4×2 for Rs. 6.25 lakhs, Soft top 4X4 for Rs. 8.35 lakhs and Hard top 4X4 for Rs. 8.50 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi prices). Its not clear if the year-old prices will apply when deliveries are announced.
