We all know that Force Motors is gearing up to expand their premium vehicle portfolio with a Mercedes derived MPV.

The new Force MPV has been spied earlier but here are some clear spyshots, thanks to our reader Mr. Abishek.H. Initial media reports suggested that the new Force MPV is a rebadged Mercedes Viano but if the test mules are anything to go by, the new MPV is a rebadged Mercedes Vito! The Vito is basically the Viano's predecessor and is long dead in the international markets!

If you look closer, the frontal shot of the test mule reveals that the dashboard layout is still as per LHD configuration (the instrument console housing is still on the left hand side of the dashboard) while the steering wheel is located on the right hand side. Force Motors has got some work to do!

Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming MPV is likely to borrow the 140PS 2.2 litre FMTECH diesel engine (also derived from Mercedes) from the Force One. Another possible candidate, perhaps for the entry level variant, is the 129PS 2.2 litre BS3 diesel engine which comes from the Traveller. The latter could also power the soon to be launched base variant of the Force One SUV.

The image of the Mercedes Vito is added for your reference.

Force Motors has announced that the new premium MPV will be launched in this financial year. The car will be competing with higher variants of the Toyota Innova.
