The Figo Aspire gets a 3-star rating.

Global NCAP has released results of the first couple of cars tested under the campaign #SaferCarsForIndia in 2017, one of which was the India-spec Ford Aspire sub-4m sedan.

The Ford Aspire was awarded 3 stars by Global NCAP for adult protection and two stars for child protection. The availability of dual airbags right from the base variant is one of the reasons why the Aspire received 3 stars.

However, it is surprising that NCAP rated the Aspire's body shell integrity 'unstable', given that the first gen Ford Figo hatchback's vehicle structure was rated 'stable'. The latter still scored zero stars due to lack of airbags in the base variant.

According to Global NCAP, the protection offered to the driver and passenger’s head and neck was good thanks to the airbag. The driver and passenger chests had weak and marginal protection, respectively. Base variants are not equipped with seatbelt pre-tensioners. The bodyshell was rated as unstable and it was not capable of withstanding any further loadings.
