Ford India has introduced a new range topper in the "Classic" series. The Ford Classic Titanium is launched in petrol and diesel avatars, and has nine new features for comfort and convenience.

The petrol variant is priced at Rs. 6,86,400, and Classic Titanium Diesel variant is priced at Rs. 7,82,000 (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

Ford has renamed the Fiesta Classic as Ford Classic, primarily to avoid confusion in the buyer's mind. Last year, weeks before the launch of the global Fiesta, Ford rebranded the Fiesta into Fiesta Classic, down-positioning it by increasing local content and using the Figo's components.

By far the most shocking feature of the Ford Classic Titanium variant is the fuel efficiency. Ford claims a fuel efficiency of 32.38 kmpl for the diesel variant, certified by ARAI as per an independent mileage run. The 1.6 litre Duratec petrol engine returns a fuel efficiency of 21.27 kmpl under the same conditions.

The 1.4L diesel engine produces 68 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque, while the 1.6L petrol makes 101 PS of power and 146 Nm of torque.

Ford Classic Titanium features

  • Stereo system equipped with Bluetooth
  • Speed sensing volume controls
  • Drive-away locks
  • Beige interior trim (hopefully will be used on the Fiesta in the future)
  • New alloy wheel design
  • Body-coloured ORVMs and black front grille

The Ford Classic Titanium is offered in 6 colors - Paprika Red, Panther Black, Diamond White, Chill Metallic, Moon Dust Silver and Sea Grey. It comes with a 2 year / 100,000 km warranty.

Can we expect the Blue Oval to break more fuel efficiency records with the same 1.4 liter diesel engine on the Ford Figo facelift, expected to bow prior to the festival season this year?
