Ford EcoSport 2017 spotted again with no covers
The facelifted version of the EcoSport has been spotted once again without any camouflage as Ford India continues testing the product before its market launch. A Team-BHP member captured these images.
The badges, or the lack thereof, indicate the test unit could be powered by the new three cylinder 1.5 L Dragon petrol engine that has been confirmed unofficially for the compact SUV. Reports add that this new engine will be available with a choice of manual and automatic transmission options. The 2017 Ford EcoSport diesel will continue with the 1.5 TDCi engine.
While the Panther Black colour this particular example is finished in is not new, based on earlier sightings, Ford will add new colour options in the mid-cycle action.
As evident from the Ford EcoSport 2017 spy shots, the only noticeable updates to the rear are the new spare wheel cover and grey finish for the number plate area. The majority of exterior updates are restricted to the front end. The car dons a new face complete with broader headlamps that feature projector units and chrome finished single frame grille. The turn indicators now sit in the bumper alongside the fog lamps.
The Ford EcoSport facelift features a redesigned dashboard. The centre console layout has been revised to accommodate an 8-inch touchscreen for the new SYNC 3 enabled infotainment. Also new is the steering wheel and instrument console. Expect ABS with EBD and dual front airbags to be standard fitment across the Ford EcoSport 2017 range.
The Ford EcoSport facelift launch is in a grey area at the moment. Much of the speculation surrounding its release date points towards a festive season launch. According to a report, the new 2017 Ford EcoSport will start reaching customers only by November.
