Camouflaged Ford EcoSport caught testing in the U.S.

Ford is of course an American automaker but it has previously confirmed that the Ford EcoSport is not going to Uncle Sam's nation anytime soon. So what is this test mule doing in the U.S.?

It is absolutely natural for the automakers to test cars on their home turf. We believe that Ford's American unit is playing with a new technology which could go into future cars including the Ford EcoSport or it could be some internal tests to gather some vital data.

The test mule of the Ford EcoSport with its hood open was spotted by Autoweek.com's reader Mr. Brendon Bartolo. The mule was keeping the company of a pair of similarly camouflaged 2013 Ford Fusions and an undisguised Ford Ranger pickup in a hotel parking lot in Denver.

This is not the first time the EcoSport was caught testing in the US, we have already brought you the spyshots of the car which was spotted earlier this year near Detroit.

Ford America is not very keen in adding the compact crossover SUV to its portfolio since the EcoSport is too small for an average American's taste. Moreover, the EcoSport is designed with emerging markets like Brazil, India and China in mind.
