According to a report on CarWale, Ford India will launch the EcoSport facelift on September 15, 2017. If the launch does take place on this date, the Ford EcoSport facelift is poised to take maximum advantage of the lucrative festive season period that sees the highest demand for cars in the year.

The new EcoSport, which made its debut at the LA Auto Show in November 2016, will be exported to the USA market from India.

The new EcoSport wears a redesigned front end with a new bumper and single piece grille. The headlamps have been re-profiled and now feature projector units and LED pilot lamps. New alloy wheels and paint shades are also part of the updates.

The cabin has been overhauled with a new dashboard layout and better material quality. The centre console has been redesigned to accommodate an 8-inch touchscreen, which acts as an interface for the new SYNC 3 AppLink setup. Also new is the steering wheel and the instrument cluster.

In recent days, reports indicate that the 2017 Ford EcoSport will employ the new three-cylinder 1.5 L Dragon petrol engine that rolled out in Brazil last month. The current engine options are the 1.5 L TDCi diesel, 1.5 L Ti-VCT petrol and 1.0 L EcoBoost petrol. The 1.5 petrol is offered with an automatic transmission option apart from the 5-speed manual that is standard across the range.

If Ford is indeed launching the EcoSport next month then promotional activities on social media should commence this month. According to a media report that came out on July 25, Ford is targeting an October launch for the EcoSport, followed by the price announcement in November.
