Bangkok Live - Ford Everest (next gen Endeavour) production confirmed
Ford Thailand has showcased the Ford Everest Concept at the Bangkok Motor Show today and has confirmed its manufacturing in Thailand for global demand at the Rayong plant alongside the Ford Ranger.
The Everest is a seven seater SUV based on the Ranger with a longer wheelbase and a coil-spring rear axle. The vehicle was designed and developed by Ford Australia and was presented in Sydney last year at the 'Go Further' event.
Ford had then said that the SUV would be produced in two years' time. Ford India already sources the Everest (as the Endeavour) from the Thai plant as CKD and a clear conclusion is that the same arrangement would continue with the arrival of the successor.
Ford ASEAN president, Matt Bradley -
The Ford Everest Concept shows the bold new direction that we envision for a mid-size, seven-seat SUV that has been designed for ASEAN and global markets. Extending Ford's unsurpassed heritage of creating class-defining SUVs, the Everest Concept features a stunning design that hints at its toughness and exceptional capability.
In its production avatar, the Ford Everest's rivals in the market are familiar faces - Toyota Fortuner, Chevy Captiva and the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
