The Ford Mondeo sedan will form the flagship model for Ford in China. This is the Mondeo that is acclaimed for its 'Aston Martin' like front nose, that has drawn both brickbats and bouquets from the automotive world. What is interesting is that this Mondeo debuts the all new 1.5-liter 4 cylinder EcoBoost engine.

The 1.5 EcoBoost engine produces 180bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. This is the same power and torque figure that the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine produces. However, the 1.5 burns lesser amount of fuel in comparison to the 1.6 and hence the emissions are reduced as well.

Ford says that the Mondeo, though their flagship, is affordable and very practical for the Chinese consumer. It is pretty much loaded with LED head lights, Ford's SYNC multimedia, and a touchscreen interface system.

Adaptive cruise control system, lane keeping system, along with rear seat belts that are inflatable (a first in China) provide the necessary safety features. The Mondeo also features automatic hands-free parking.

The Mondeo has a muscular feel to it and has been made using hand crafted sheet metal, says a delighted Ford!
