Ford India has showcased the iconic Ford Mustang at Auto Expo 2016. The muscle car is scheduled for an Indian launch in Q2 2016, and will be the first of its kind here, when it goes on sale.

On the outside, the car has a sporty and aggressive look with the front fascia showing off a power bulge on the bonnet, wide grille flanked by sharp HID headlamps and tri-slat LED DRLs. The lateral view receives a sharp shoulder line, sharp wheel arches, muscular haunches and new alloy wheel design. The rear is characterized by tri-slat LED tail lights, twin tail pipes and a twin-fin diffuser.

The Mustang for India will come with a 5.0L V8 engine, and the car will be a CBU.

The cabin is inspired by an aviation theme with large dials for the instrument cluster and centrally-placed triple AC vents. The dashboard is accented with a silver-finish trim that runs along its entire length. The steering wheel is a three-spoke multi-function unit besides which is located the display for Ford’s SYNC infotainment system. The interior is equipped with heated and cooled seats, leather upholstery for the seats and a Shaker Pro audio system.

The only variant that will be available in India would be the Mustang GT, which packs a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox that sends 435 hp and 542 Nm to the rear wheels.
