Genesis G70 with Sport Package showcased at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show

In September this year, Genesis introduced its first sports sedan - the Genesis G70. At the 2017 Dubai Motor Show this month, the Genesis G70 had its Middle East debut.

The Genesis G70 is the youngest model in the company’s line-up and showcases the future direction of the brand’s design language. The athletic sedan gets its character from a prominent crest-type front grille with two linear LED DRLs flanking on the sides, pronounced air intakes, long bonnet, a short rear overhang and quad LED rear combination lamps.

At the Dubai Motor Show, Genesis showcased the Genesis G70 with Sport Package. The Sport Package includes dark chrome-coated radiator grille, dark chrome-coated front bumper garnish, dark chrome-coated side fender garnish, dark chrome-coated door handles, dark metal surround moulding, dark chrome-coated rear bumper garnish, full-LED headlamps with black and copper bezels, dark red LED rear combination lamps and 19-inch wheels wrapped with 225/40ZR19 (front) & 255 35ZR19 (rear) tyres.

Inside, the Genesis G70 features Genesis G90 features aluminium door handles, quilted leather door panels, Nappa leather seats, smart posture control system, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink support, 15-speaker Lexicon surround sound system and metal speaker grilles. The Sport package includes Gray or Red stitching for the seats.

Genesis will sell the Genesis G70 with two engine options in the Middle East: Theta-II 2.0-litre turbo GDI and Lambda II 3.3-litre turbo GDI V6. The 2.0-litre petrol engine produces 252 PS and 353 Nm of torque. The 3.3-litre petrol engine develops 370 PS and 510 Nm of torque. The company will announce more region-specific details in early 2018, which is when it expects the car’s sales launch. The BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes C-Class and Jaguar XE are the Genesis G70's main competitors.
