Geneva Live - Ssangyong SIV-1 Concept unveiled
Ssangyong SIV-1 concept has been presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Indian owned South Korean brand has grown 6.8% in 2012 by selling 1,20,000 units world wide. Ssangyong targets to sell 1,50,000 units this year.
The SIV Concept stands for 'Smart Interface Vehicle' is a premium car which embodies the ambition of the company. The design of the future Ssangyongs would be derived from the styling cues of the SIV-1 Concept. It looks incredibly fanciable with high beltline, an exaggerated rear haunch, and large wheels. The car is 4,500mm in length, 1,880mm in height, and 1,640mm in width with a wheelbase of 2,700mm.
Ssangyong calls the design theme as Nature born 3Motion. The crossover SUV gets full LED headlamps and the overall design is certainly quite a few notches above the car maker's current portfolio.
The SIV Concept features a 3s Cube Communication System which gives real time traffic updates. In addition, the design of the instrument cluster is customizable.
There are no details about the engine that powers the concept. Ssangyong has presented it only as a design precursor to its future lineup and hence we are surprised about the lack of tech specs of the car.
