Suzuki today introduced the global all-new Carry at IIMS 2019. Indonesia is the redesigned model's first market, and from there, it will be exported to Suzuki carry nearly 100 countries and regions.

The 2019 Suzuki Carry employs the K15B-C 1.5-litre petrol engine, presumably a derivative of the Maruti Ciaz and Maruti Ertiga's K15B unit.

Suzuki started exporting the Carry from Japan in 1976. Its toughness, comfort and load carrying capacity have made it a worldwide hit. Currently, it is sold in 145 countries around the globe and accounts for over two million unit sales.

The 2019 Suzuki Carry features a more stylish design. Where the old model appeared rounded, the new generation model is straight and sharp, particularly with respect to the front grille and headlamps. It measures 4,195 mm in length, and of that, 2,205 mm is the wheelbase. The width and height vary as per the version selected: Flat Deck and Wide Deck. The Flat Deck version is 1,675 mm wide and 1,870 mm tall, while the Wide Deck version is 1,765 mm wide and 1,910 mm tall.

The length, width and height of the load bay are 2,505 mm, 1,665 mm (Flat Deck)/1,745 mm (Wide Deck) and 360 mm (Flat Deck)/425 mm (Wide Deck) respectively. The Wide Deck version's load bay, unlike that of the Flat Deck version, can be opened from three sides. The 3-seat small commercial vehicle is powered by the K15B-C 1.5-litre petrol engine, presumably a derivative of the Maruti Ciaz and Maruti Ertiga's K15B unit. This engine produces 97 PS at 5,600 rpm and 135 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The new generation Suzuki Carry can carry a cargo of up to 1 tonne. It has a wider cabin that can accommodate up to 3 people. The interior design is good enough for a vehicle its type. There are many storage areas inside the cabin, which adds to the practicality of the vehicle. The driver's seat is adjustable, and the key features include power steering, air conditioning and audio system as well.

The all-new Suzuki Carry is available in three colours options– Superior White, Silky Silver and Real Black.

The 2019 Suzuki Carry's wider load bay is accessible from all three sides and accommodates more luggage.

Suzuki's all-new Carry is bigger and more capable than Maruti Suzuki's 2-seat Super Carry that can carry a payload of up to 740 kg. It's unknown whether the former is planned for launch in India.
