Harley-Davidson Mumbai selling demo bikes at heavy discounts

Recently, we reported that select Triumph dealerships were offering demo motorcycles at discounted prices. Now, Harley-Davidson’s Mumbai outlet has announced heavy discounts on demo bikes to clear its stock. The discount most likely targets to clear the existing stock before the company introduces BS-VI motorcycles.

Harley-Davidson Mumbai (Seven Islands Harley-Davidson) is offering its demo motorcycles at heavy discounts, low down payment and finance options.

Under the offer, the 2018 Harley-Davidson Street 750 is available at an on-road price of INR 5,76,466 as against its original price of INR 6,85,066. The dealership is also offering finance of INR 5,48,000 on the cruiser. Apart from the Street 750, the company is offering the 2017 Street Rod, 2017 Street Bob and the 2017 Fat-Bob. The Street Rod is available at INR 1,30,600 discount, while the Fat-Bob can be bought at INR 3,67,000 lower than the actual on-road price. All the motorcycles listed in the offer (image above) are available at finance, low down payment and EMIs for 36 or 60 months.

Last month, Capital Harley-Davidson (Delhi outlet) announced an INR 1 lakh discount on the ex-showroom price of the Street 750. The American brand’s Pune and Kolhapur outlets offered free riding gear with Sportster range that includes the Iron 883, Forty-Eight, 1200 Custom, Forty-Eight Special and the Roadster models.

In other updates, Harley-Davidson has announced its partnership with Chinese brand Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle to manufacture a new entry-level model in the sub-500 cc segment. The Chinese company will manufacture the company’s new 338 cc product. The new product will hit the Chinese market by the end of 2020, while other Asian markets, including India, would receive the bike soon after.

The demo bikes available at discounted prices include the Street 750, Street Rod (pictured), Street Bob and the Fat-Bob.

Harley-Davidson has also revealed the first sketch of the upcoming sub-500 cc motorcycle that will compete in the naked roadster category. The bike revealed via the sketch was equipped with the underpinnings of the Benelli TNT300. Regular readers would know that Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle also owns the Italian brand. The engine, too, would most likely be shared by the two products.

The current generation Benelli TNT300 uses a 300 cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled power mill that delivers 38.79 PS at 11,500 rpm and 26.5 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The Euro-V/BS-VI compliant model will most likely arrive with a marginal displacement bump and feature a 338 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor.
