The recall, which was made due to an issue with the brakes, affected nearly 44,000 Street series motorcycles globally. The Street series motorcycles that were manufactured between May 19, 2015, and December 6, 2018, were affected by the recall in global markets. The recall also affected the Street series motorcycles that were built in India during the same period. Thus, the company had stopped the deliveries of the models to rectify the issue before they were delivered.

The affected models suffered from corrosion on the brake calliper piston bore. Dealerships replaced the defective units and installed new front and rear brake callipers on the affected models.

The Harley-Davidson Street 750 retails at INR 5.31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It draws power from a 749 cc, liquid-cooled, Revolution X, V-Twin motor that churns out 59 Nm of peak torque at 3,750 rpm. The Harly-Davidson Street Rod, which costs INR 6.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), also features the same engine, but it is tuned for 11% more horsepower and 5% more torque (62 Nm at 4,000 rpm).
