With fuel prices skyrocketing, it's only wise for commuters to consider the best mileage bikes in India. While the performance motorcycle segment is on the rise, the entry-level commuter segment, maybe not the profits, but is what brings volumes to the OEMs.

Here’s our list of the Top 10 fuel-efficient bikes in India, which includes the Bajaj Platina and the TVS mileage bikes.

1. Bajaj Platina - 104 km/l

The Bajaj Platina is the most fuel-efficient motorcycle in India, with a claimed mileage of 104 km/l. That said, it delivers around 85 km/l of mileage in the real world conditions.

The Bajaj Platina costs INR 47,405 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike sources power from a 102 cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 8.1 bhp of maximum power and 8.6 Nm of peak torque mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The Platina offers one of the most comfortable ride quality in its segment as a result of the ‘ComforTec’ suspension setup.

2. TVS Sport - 95 km/l

The TVS Sport is one of the most fuel-efficient motorcycles in India with an ARAI certified fuel economy of 95 km/l. However, in real-world scenarios, the bike delivers a fuel economy of around 75-80 km/l, which is commendable.

The TVS mileage bike is powered by a 109 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 7.4 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 7.5 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm, mated to a four-speed gearbox. The TVS Sport starts at a price of INR 39,988 (ex-showroom Delhi).

3. Bajaj CT100 - 90 km/l

The Bajaj CT100 is the third-most fuel-efficient motorcycle in the country a fuel economy of 90 km/l (tested by the company), alongside the Bajaj Platina. According to the real world tests, the CT100 delivers a fuel efficiency of around 80 km/l, making it one of the most fuel-efficient bikes in India.

The Bajaj CT100 is also the most affordable motorcycle in India, which costs INR 32,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Powering the CT100 is a 99.27 cc, single-cylinder motor that pumps out 8.1 bhp of maximum power and 8.05 Nm of peak torque.
The Bajaj CT 100 ES variant uses the 102 cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 7.6 bhp of maximum power and 8.24 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The CT100 ES variant costs INR 40,384 (ex-showroom Delhi).

4. TVS Star City Plus - 86 km/l

The TVS Star City Plus, with a fuel economy of 86 km/l, is the fourth most fuel-efficient motorcycle in the list. Earlier this week, TVS Motor Company launched a new dual-tone Star City Plus variant in India.

The TVS Star City Plus employs a 110 cc, single-cylinder, ‘Ecothrust’ DLI engine that churns out 8.3 bhp of maximum power and 8.7 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs to a 4-speed transmission. Currently, TVS Star City Plus starts at INR 66,895 and goes up to INR 69,465 (ex-showroom Delhi).

5. Mahindra Centuro - 85 km/l

ArrayThe Mahindra Centuro is another highly fuel-efficient motorcycle with an ARAI certified mileage of 85 km/l. The bike comes with anti-theft alarm with engine immobiliser, find-me lamps, remote flip-key and guide-me home lamps.

The Mahindra Centuro was priced between INR 48,935 to INR 54935 (ex-showroom Delhi). It sources power from a 106.7 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, MCI-5 engine that produces 8.5 PS of power at 7500 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm, mated to a 4-speed transmission. However, the model has been discontinued now.

6. Hero Passion PRO i3s - 84 km/l

The Hero Passion PRO i3s is the sixth most economical bike in our list with a fuel efficiency of 84 km/l. The Passion PRO i3s starts from INR 52,050 and goes up to INR 55,050 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Powering the Hero Passion PRO i3s is a 97.2 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that is capable of generating 8.36 bhp of maximum power and 8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a four-speed gearbox.

7. Honda Dream Neo - 84 km/l

The Honda Dream Neo delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 84 km/l, and returns a mileage of around 70-75 km/l in real-world riding conditions. Therefore, it's included in the list of best mileage bikes to buy in the Indian market. The bike is priced at INR 51,761 and INR 52,051 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Grab Rail and Carrier variants, respectively.

The Honda Dream Neo employs a 109.19 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine that develops 8.31 bhp of power at 7500 rpm and 9.09 of peak torque Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine pairs to a 4-speed gearbox.

8. Honda Dream Yuga - 84 km/l

The Honda Dream Yuga is the second Honda motorcycle in this list to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 84 km/l. The bike comes in a single variant and gets a price tag of INR 53,709 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Honda Dream Yuga is powered by a 109.19 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke motor that is good for 8.31 bhp of maximum power and 9.09 of peak torque Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine pairs to a 4-speed gearbox.

9. Hero HF Deluxe - 83 km/l

The Hero HF Deluxe is the ninth-most economical bike in India with a fuel efficiency of 83 km/l. Prices of the HF Deluxe start from INR 43,000 and goes up to INR 46,950 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Hero HF Deluxe uses a 97.2 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is capable of pumping out a maximum power of 8.36 bhp and a peak torque of 8.05 Nm, mated to a four-speed gearbox.

10. Yamaha Saluto RX - 82 km/l

That said, the Yamaha Saluto RX is one such motorcycle, with a mileage of 82 kilometres to the litre, that completes this list. Powering the Yamaha Saluto is a 110 cc, single-cylinder engine the churns out 7.4 bhp of maximum power and 8.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 4-speed transmission.
