Check out this retro classic Honda Activa modification job

A Honda Activa has shed its original look for a retro-classic avatar and it looks uber-cool. The modified Honda Activa is a creation of a Pune-based journalist and IAB reader, Vishal Joshi.

The massive revision of the fascia and the addition of twin-pod, analogue instrument console lend this Honda Activa a unique look.

What is new on the machine? For starters, the Honda Activa sheds its standard headlight for apron mounted units. The spherical shape and a relatively large design add a new character to the machine.

Blinkers have been integrated into the handlebar for a clean look to the front. Behind the headlight are a pair of analogue dials that display the fuel gauge and the speedometer that replace the stock unit. Apart from the speedometer, the right side dial also displays odometer and a trip meter. All the controls for the lights and turn indicators are placed on the left side of the handlebar while the right side gets the self-start switch. A pair of round rear view mirrors further enhances the old-school styling.

The retro-styled scooter is based on the first generation Honda Activa and thus you would find a single-tone body panel under the seat. The saddle gets a tan-leather seat-cover with white stitching that adds a contrast to the single-tone paint job. The complete customisation job cost and the time taken varies upon the level of modification.

“I'd like to call it vision, than inspiration. I started from a clean slate and did not want it to look like anything else,” Joshi says about his creation.

Mechanical specifications continue stock, featuring 109 cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, OHC engine that is tuned to deliver 7 bhp of power. Drum brakes on both ends provide stopping power. Spring Loaded Hydraulic Type unit at the front and at the rear performs suspension duties. The scooter continues to ride on 10-inch wheels on both ends.

The overall mod cost and time depends on the owner's requirements. You can connect with Vishal through the link at the end of the post.

This modified Honda Activa hits the right strings and makes you want to pull out a leather jacket and an open face helmet for a ride around the city.
