The Honda BR-V is based on the Brio's platform.
Honda Cars India is gearing up for its next launch, the Honda BR-V, which is anticipated to go on sale in May 2016. The company has lined up initial media activities (journalist test drives) towards the end of April 2016.
Details about the BR-V, including its powertrain options for the Indian market, will be revealed in the coming weeks. The 7-seat crossover is expected to be powered by 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines. The latter, using the EarthDreams i-DTEC technology, is expected to develop 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
In the Indonesian market, the 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine develops 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque, and is paired to a new 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. There were reports of Honda Cars India choosing to introduce the 6-speed manual on the petrol BR-V, though the exact specifications should be clear in the coming weeks.

The dashboard of the BR-V is identical to the recently-launched Honda Amaze facelift. ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, and an integrated Bluetooth-enabled music system will be part of the kit.
