Spied - Honda CB Unicorn 160 spotted for the first time

Features a conservative styling.

BikesIndia has uploaded the first set of spyshots of the upcoming 160 cc motorcycle from Honda. Called the Honda CB Unicorn 160, the new motorcycle aims to leverage the strong brand value of the Unicorn to get going. As reported earlier, it's not based on the CX-01 concept.

The new CB Unicorn 160 appears to have reached dealerships for training purposes.

Design-wise, the CB Unicorn 160 has a rather conservative appearance in comparison to its intended rivals, the Yamaha FZ Fi V2.0 and the Suzuki Gixxer. The headlamp and digital dashboard designs are close to that of its predecessor, the CB Trigger, while the fuel tank is simply not muscular enough to grab attention.

The tailpiece offers a wide seat which can accommodate the rider and pillion comfortably. The 'X' shaped taillight is the design highlight of the entire package and the motorcycle employs what looks like a 120 mm section rear tyre (FZ and Gixxer use much fatter rubber).

Not surprisingly, the CB Unicorn 160 employs a telescopic front fork and monoshock rear suspension system. The front disc comes as standard while the rear disc brake is optional.

Just like the CB Trigger, the CB Unicorn 160 features a fully digital dashboard.

The powertrain details are scarce as of now except for the displacement which is in the vicinity of 160 cc. It also remains to be seen if the engine is fuel-injected but there are no 'PGM-FI' stickers anywhere on the bike. Expect the power output to be in the range of 15-16 PS.
