US - Honda CB300F naked motorcycle unveiled, priced at USD 3,999

The Honda CB300F naked motorcycle, whose patent sketches were leaked this year, has been finally unveiled in the US. The new addition to Honda's sportsbike portfolio is priced at USD 3,999 (around INR 2.40 lakhs).

The CB300F is based on the recently launched fully faired CBR300R. Save for the sharply styled headlamp and edgy tank extensions, the naked motorcycle inherits its design and body from the faired counterpart.

The Honda CB300F is essentially the street fighter variant of the Honda CBR300R.

Power comes from the same 286 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine that does duty in the CBR300R. The output figures of the PGM-FI engine are identical at 30.4 bhp and 27.4 Nm of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed unit. The street fighter weighs 157.85 kg compared to the CBR300R's 161.9 kg. The rest of the tech spec is the same.

The bike returns an EPA certified economy of 71 mpg (30.05 km/l). The CB300F is available only in red as of now.

The Honda CB300F borrows its parts from the Honda CBR300R

The Honda CBR300R is expected to replace the CBR250R in India sometime next year. Given that the 200-300 cc segment of the Indian two wheeler market is witnessing lots of changes and additions, the Honda CB300F would be an ideal fit in Honda's portfolio, below the CBR300R.

Competitors: Kawasaki Z250, Mahindra Mojo, Suzuki Inazuma, KTM Duke

Expected Price: INR 1.75 - 2.25 lakhs, ex-showroom
