INTERMOT 2014 Live - Honda CBR300R

Already on sale in the global markets.

The Honda CBR300R, the Japanese two wheeler maker's new quarter litre contender, is being showcased at the INTERMOT 2014.

The Honda CBR300R made its global premiere at a Chinese motorcycle show last year before gracing the EICMA 2013. It succeeds the CBR250R in most of the international markets but the new bike might be coexisting with a revised version of the CBR250R in few Asian markets like Indonesia.

The design, for the most part, is a direct derivation of its predecessor. However the front fairing features a dual-headlamp like the CBR1000R superbike.

Honda's engineers have increased the stroke length of the CBR250R's single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine to arrive at the CBR300R's 286 cc powerplant. The bigger engine makes use of a heavier balancer shaft and stronger engine mounts.

In terms of outputs, the Honda CBR300R dishes out 30.4 bhp and 27.07 Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox transfers power via a conventional chain drive. The EFI has been remapped for crisper throttle response and the exhaust system now features a larger end can for a deeper exhaust note.
