Honda City hatchback (Honda Gienia) to make global premiere in China next month - Report
Hatchback version of the Honda Griez (Honda City) sedan.
Chinese media reports state that Dongfeng-Honda is planning to unveil the Honda Gienia at the 2016 Chengdu Motor Show that opens its doors on September 2. The Gienia is the hatchback version of the Honda Griez sedan, which is based on the Honda City.
The exterior of the Gienia was previewed by the Honda Concept B. It gets a bold Solid Wing Face with chrome embellishments, gloss black grille, projector headlamps and a new bumper design. The rear-end has boomerang-shaped taillights connected by a reflector that runs across the upper portion, sculpted bumper with chrome accents and a rear spoiler.
The Gienia is reported to measure 4,517 mm in length, 1,705 mm in width, 1,477 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. Compared to the Griez, it is 22 mm shorter in overall length, while the wheelbase is identical to the Griez and City.

Under the hood is a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine with 96 kW (128.6 hp) and 155 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a CVT option will also be available.
