Honda Cliq vs. TVS XL 100 - Spec sheet & Pictorial comparison

Honda Cliq is the most affordable 110 cc scooter in the market.

The TVS XL is the go-to two-wheeler when a customer is looking for an affordable product with utility. With a major brand recall value, the TVS XL 100 has an iron grip of the rural market, and even in 2017, the TVS XL moped family sales hover around 60,000 units a month regularly. That’s roughly the number the Honda Navi did in over a year. Honda though wants a bigger share of the unexplored interior markets of India with the Honda Cliq.

The Honda Cliq is a more of a full bodied scooter while the TVS XL 100 is a bare bones transporter for goods and passengers.

The TVS XL100 gets bigger wheels with spokes that can tackle broken roads more easily, while the easy kick start function will definitely help the rider get the ball rolling with minimum effort. However, the convenience of an electric starter in the Honda Cliq is a home in versatility. The Honda Cliq also gets better brakes than the TVS XL100 and the added safety net of Honda’s Combined Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer is a boon. The USB charging port is also a nifty add-on in the Honda Cliq.

The wider footboard in the Honda Cliq will help in easy and safer loading of goods while the additional carrier will also increase its load carrying capacity. The underseat storage will also help the rider get additional storage space unseen in the TVS XL100. The moped though gets a built-in carrier with hooks and the carrier can be used more diligently by removing the pillion seat. In utility, the TVS XL 100 wins hands down.

The Honda Cliq gets a wider footboard but the TVS XL 100 beats the Honda with a removable pillion seat.
