Rendering - Honda Concept C caters to a niche segment
The Honda Concept C is under the spotlight of the Chinese media as the time for the unveiling of the production version is inching closer.
Test mules of the car are spotted regularly and recently patent sketches of the car surfaced on the internet. The Concept C will be positioned between the Honda Civic and the Honda Accord in what would be a new niche segment between C and entry level D Segments.
With a slew of C+ products in the pipeline, this particular segment appears to be promising in China, a reason why the Honda Concept C premiered at last year's Beijing Auto Show. The production version of the C is most likely to make its global debut at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show which begins on April 20.
Here is our in-house expert Shoeb's exclusive rendering of the yet to be named production Honda Concept C. Since it is based on the patent leaks, we can safely assume that the rendering is very close to the actual car.
The straight forward headlamps, eminent chrome cladding on the front grill with a massive Honda logo define the car's face. The swooping roofline and the wraparound taillights complete the sedan's exterior.
According to media reports, the car will be powered by a pair of i-VTEC petrol engines displacing 1.8 litres and 2.0 litres. The probable transmission options are 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. Reports suggest that the car could also be exported from China to some Asian markets.
We're going to keep a close watch on the Concept C, so be sure to tune into all the updates on IndianAutosBlog.com.
