Honda Forza 300 rumoured to be launched in India - Report

The word on the street is that Honda 2Wheelers India is mulling the launch of a new premium scooter in India. An article on ZigWheels claims that this scooter is none other than the Honda Forza 300. Interestingly, a unit of the Forza 300 has been on display at Honda Big Wing outlet, their premium outlet launched along with the CB300R.

The Honda Forza 300, if launched in India, will be imported via the CBU route.

The Honda Forza 300 is a tourer centric automatic scooter retailed in ASEAN and several first-world markets, including Japan. The aerodynamically crafted to perfection looks are complemented by a large LED headlamp unit. The bulky front apron is accompanied by a large and comfortable seat which gently blends into the step-through footboard. The tail section shoots upwards and has a snazzy looking tail lamp with integrated indicators.

Powering the Honda Forza 300 is a 279 cc, 4-valve, SOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder mill. This fuel-injected engine is good to produce 25 PS of power and 27.2 Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency (WMTC mode) is claimed to be 31 km/l. The scooter is suspended over telescopic fork up front and twin springs in the rear. Braking includes a 259 mm disc up front and a 240 mm unit in the rear. Adding to the safety net is a dual-channel ABS.

This premium scooter boasts an on-the-fly electronically adjustable windscreen which has a range of 140 mm. Apart from that, the Honda Forza 300 is also the first scooter to feature Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which progressively monitors engine torque to control rear-wheel slip. Also, experienced riders will love the fact that HSTC is switchable.

The Honda Forza 300’s instrument cluster includes two analogue dials for speedo and tacho. An LCD panel is also present for the rest of the read-outs. The large under-seat storage can swallow two full-face helmets! Besides that, instead of an ignition key, you get a Smart Key System, which can also unlock the seat. The large 15-inch front and 14-inch rear tyres are shod over cast aluminium rims.

The Honda Forza 300 features Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to keep those horses under check.

If launched, the Honda Forza 300 will be brought to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route.
