Indonesia Live - Honda HR-V, HR-V Modulo, HR-V Mugen
Will be manufactured in Indonesia.
PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has finally unveiled the Honda HR-V at the Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS 2014). The car is the Indonesian adaptation of the Honda Vezel which launched in Japan last year.
The Jazz-based compact SUV is offered in two engine options, but carries the suffix 'prototype' connoting that it is close to the production car.
Bookings are open at the show, and the tentative prices are Rp 240-280 million (INR 12.18 lakhs to 14.16 lakhs) for the 1.5-liter variant and Rp 350 million (INR 17.88 lakhs) for the range-topping 1.8-liter variant (both petrol).
Honda has not announced the exact launch date, but expect the model to go on sale in the coming months. The SUV will not be launched in India as Honda Cars India is believed to be developing a price-competitive compact crossover on the Brio platform.
Interestingly the HR-V Mugen and HR-V Modulo versions have also been exhibited, as concepts. While HPM does not say if the variants will be launched eventually, customization packs were available on the HR-V in Japan from the time of launch.
