Honda has launched the HR-V (Vezel) in Thailand in three trim levels with prices ranging from 890,000 Baht to 1.045 million Baht (INR 16.74 lakhs to INR 19.66 lakhs). Honda plans to sell 20,000 units/annum of the crossover in Thailand.

Only front wheel drive variants are offered in Thailand.

For Thailand, the HR-V is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine which is capable of running on ethanol blended fuel as well. It produces 141 PS (139 bhp) at 6,500 rpm and 172 Nm of torque, and drives the front wheels via a CVT gearbox. A 4WD model is not offered at the moment.

The Thai media report that by using the 1.8L engine, the HR-V has been positioned and priced higher than cars like the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke. Reports also strongly convey that Honda has done this to allow some gap for the new Brio-based SUV which will launch in India as well.

Last month, the HR-V was showcased in Brazil with a 1.8L flex-fuel engine.

All variants of the HR-V get ABS, EBD, ESP, HSA (Hill Start Assist), an electric parking brake, auto hold and dual front airbags as standard. The top-end trim features side airbags, curtain airbags, sunroof, a high-end infotainment system with a reverse camera and diamond cut alloy wheels in addition. The HR-V in Thailand is available in a total of five colors.
