Report - Euro-spec Honda HR-V (Honda Vezel) compact SUV to premiere at Paris Motor Show

To debut Honda's VTEC Turbo engine.

France's Automobile Magazine reports that Honda will stage the European debut of the Honda HR-V (Honda Vezel) at the Paris Motor Show which opens its doors to the media in the first week of October. The Vezel, which was world premiered at the Tokyo Motor Show last year, will go by the name of HR-V for markets in America, Europe and select Asian markets like Indonesia.

The Vezel will be called HR-V in American, European and select Asian markets.

Measuring 4,295 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, 1,605 mm in height and 2,610 mm in wheelbase (Note: These are dimensions of the American HR-V), the HR-V will rival segment kingpins such as the Nissan Juke and Nissan Qashqai.

Power for the crossover is reported to come from the 1.6-liter diesel engine (which powers the European CR-V and Civic), and the petrol models are speculated to debut Honda's new VTEC Turbo engines which come in the form of a 1.0-liter three-cylinder and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit.

For India though, Honda is reported to be developing a compact SUV on the Brio's platform as the Vezel will face hurdles in meeting cost targets.

Launch date in Europe: 2015
