Honda Cars India ramps up production of Honda Jazz - Report
Mobilio and Amaze production adjusted to increase Jazz output, says report.
Honda Cars India is presently facing increasing demand for its newly launched hatchback, the Honda Jazz, that is forcing the company to juggle production in both its Tapukara and Greater Noida facilities, says a report on Autocar India.
The production of the hatchback comes at the price of a cutback in production of the Amaze sedan. This has had a direct impact on the sale of the compact sedan, with sales of July 2015 down at 4,589 units, showing a drop of almost 2,500 units compared to the 6,834 units it had sold in the previous month.

Also on the chopping block is the Mobilio MPV, with a cutback in production of around 5-10 percent, says the report. However, a dip in demand for the Mobilio means a production cutback has resulted in a very meagre drop in sales, from 1,043 units in June 2015 to 909 units in July 2015.

Waiting period for the Honda Jazz, at present, stands at 1-2 months. The Jazz was launched early in July at a starting price of INR 5.3 lakhs and has clocked sales of an impressive 6,676 units till the end of July.
The split between petrol and diesel models stands at 60:40 respectively and around a quarter of the demand is for the 1.2-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine coupled with a CVT gearbox, the updated report concludes.
