IAB Report - Honda India deletes AVN, woody panel, reverse camera on Mobilio

Honda Cars India have informed Indian Autos Blog that some features will be deleted from the Mobilio, which launches on July 23. Media vehicles used for test drive program were fitted with a touchscreen audio, visual and navigation system, a faux wood center panel, leatherette seat covers and illuminated side steps. These features were planned to be offered standard on the top-end trim.

This is the updated dashboard of the Honda Mobilio without the woody panel and AVN system.

However, the touchscreen infotainment system had a few issues (the brightness of the screen was low, and the navigation feature was not working) and Honda had asked journalists not to evaluate the system due to known problems. The company has decided to skip the media system altogether on the MPV due to persisting problems. As a result, the reverse camera feature will not be available as well as the infotainment system doubled up as a display for the camera.

The Mobilio will get fabric seats on all variants.

The fake wood panel is the next feature to face the axe. The panel looked pretty low rent on the dashboard, and its perhaps journalist feedback that has influenced Honda to remove it. Other features which were seen, but will not be offered, are illuminated side steps and leatherette seat covers. These features (side step, leatherette seat covers and woody panel) can be bought and fitted at the dealership as accessories.

The above images show the final dashboard and seats of the production Mobilio.

The woody panel that looked low rent, has been deleted on the production car.
