At the recent Japan Camping Car Show, a unique concept called Honda N-One Natural Concept was showcased by Honda. True to its name, the kei car concept moves away from the sheet metal look and adopts a more natural-looking exterior and interior.

The Honda N-One Natural Concept gets steel wheels and a retractable roof.

While its production plans aren't finalised, the vehicle uses an interesting mix of matte beige paint, inconspicuous Honda logos, and a complementing black/uncoloured paint for a contrasting look. The retractable canvas roof, flanked by roof rails adds to the utilitarian yet appealing appearance, and so does the net on the boot.

The wooden floor and mix and a special fabric for seats stand out in the interior.

On the inside, plastic panels on the door have been replaced with real wood, while the seats get a special cloth. Fold the seats down and there's a wooden floor beneath.

The dashboard, again, is a mix of plastic and wood. To add to the rugged interior is the perforated wooden panels on the back of the seats.

Also, unlike other special editions, the vehicle doesn't sport alloy wheels. It instead uses a set of steel rims with body coloured hub caps that work well with the simple yet unique styling elsewhere.

While the N-One was introduced in 2012, Honda recently added the N-Box Slash kei SUV to the line up. Powering the N-Series kei vehicles is a 660 cc petrol engine (available in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions) which comes mated to a CVT gearbox.
