Earlier, it was reported that Honda had patented the scooter in India and might be bound for this country. HMSI is taking the harder route of developing India-specific products than copy-pasting models developed for other markets. How the Scoopy fits into this strategy remains to be seen.

The Scoopy, present in the Indonesian market comes with a 108.2 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection. It generates 9.1 PS at 7500 rpm and 9.4 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. It gets an Idling Stop system as well.

Honda could engineer the scooter to employ the Activa 4G’s 109.19 cc engine. The BSIV compliant engine with a variomatic transmission puts out 7.96 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.

The neo-retro scooter features telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. Brakes include a disc at the front and a drum unit at the rear, both linked to Combi Brake System. The scooter gets 12-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 100-section front and 110-section rear tubeless tyres.

Notable features of this scooter include anti-theft alarm with Answer Back System to find the scooter in dark surroundings. The headlight is an LED projector unit, and there’s a USB charging port in the apron-mounted box. The instrument console is an analogue-digital combo cluster with Eco indicator. The Honda Scoopy costs IDR 17,800,000, on-road Jakarta.
