2017 Honda Shine BSIV version launched at INR 55,799

The Honda Shine was once the largest selling 125 cc motorcycle in India.

HMSI has launched the BSIV compliant version of the Honda Shine with Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) and some cosmetic changes.

Honda has introduced a BSIV compliant version of the Honda Shine. The bike gains AHO and a chrome exhaust muffler cover and a carburettor cover also in chrome.

The 2017 Honda Shine’s BSIV Optimax engine displaces 124.73 cc and is coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 10.16 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.30 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The HET engine helps the bike reach a top speed of 93 km/h (claimed). The motorcycle tips the scales at 123 kg.

Other changes to the 2017 Honda Shine include a chrome cover for the exhaust muffler and carburettor. Graphics and stickers remain the same. The bike gets tubeless tyres and drum brakes all around. A front disc (240 mm) version is available, and the motorcycle offers Combined Brake System (CBS).

The bike is suspended over telescopic forks up front and gets a 5 step adjustable dual shocks in the rear. The Honda Shine can store 10.5 litres of petrol and has a ground clearance of 157 mm.

The 2017 Honda Shine is priced at INR 55,799 for the drum brake, INR 58,125 for the front disc and INR 61,047 for the CBS variant (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
