Likely to be a China-only model.

At Auto Shanghai 2015, Honda unveiled the Honda Concept D as a preview of a future mid-size crossover, and a prototype based on the concept was spied testing in Spain last year. Now a report from AutoHome indicates that the production version of the Honda Concept D will be called Honda UR-V.

The Chinese publication is reporting the development based on a trademark filing by company, seen in the image below.

The alleged Honda UR-V is the production version of the Honda Honda Concept D.

The Honda UR-V could be based on the current Honda CR-V's platform. Reports say that it will be made available with two petrol engine choices: a 2.4-litre naturally aspirated unit, which will probably be the base offering, and a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit. Both engines will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive configuration should be standard, with all-wheel drive available up the range.

The Honda UR-V will be offered with 2.0-litre turbocharged and 2.4-litre naturally aspirated petrol engines.

The Honda UR-V could be bigger than the Honda CR-V, offering a three-row, seven-seat configuration. It will be made locally by the Guangzhou-Honda joint venture and likely stay a China-only offering. For the same audience in global markets, Honda could offer a three-row variant of the next gen Honda CR-V.
