As per a report from Rushlane, Honda has patented its adventure scooter, the Honda X-ADV in India. The website reports that it could be launched in the country in 2019.

However, this speculation has to be taken with a pinch of salt as Honda had also patented the Rebel 300 reportedly in India. And, in July last year, it was reported that the Rebel 300 will not be Honda’s Royal Enfield challenger. Moreover, the brand also reportedly patented the XRE300 in May 2017, and till date there is no sign of its launch.

The Honda X-ADV is a uniquely designed off-road centric moto-scooter from the Japanese brand. The X-Adv features a large adjustable windscreen on the apron; and at the bottom, there are twin LED headlamps. The indicators and the tail light are LED units as well. The scooter comes with a rally-style fully-digital instrument cluster. The tell-tale lights are housed on a small screen in the handlebar clamp. The underseat storage capacity stands at 21 litres.

Honda showcased the X-ADV at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.

The Honda X-Adv employs 745cc in-line 2-cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The OHC powerplant makes 54 PS at 6,250 rpm, and 68 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. The engine works in tandem with an electronic 6-speed DCT gearbox. Coming to the suspension bits, it uses upside down front fork and a pro-link rear monoshock. Dual discs at the front with radial callipers; and a single disc at the rear take care of the braking. In the UK market, the Honda X-ADV costs GBP 9,959.
