Offered with two engine options.

Honda has launched the China-only XR-V compact SUV with prices ranging from 127,800 yuan to 162,800 yuan (INR 12.9 lakhs to INR 16.44 lakhs).

The XR-V sports redesigned front and rear fascias to better differentiate it from the Vezel.

The XR-V is nothing but a different looking Vezel, and a cheaper version at that. The front gets newly designed headlights and grille with a resculpted bumper with foglight and indicator enclosures. At the rear, the XR-V gets LED taillights extending across the width of the car, and a new tailgate design.

The XR-V is a tad shorter than the Vezel at 4,270 mm in length (shorter by 24 mm), 1,772 mm in width and 1,605 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm.

Inside, the car gets a low-tech alternative of the Vezel's dashboard, and features like the floating center tunnel and leather inserts for the dashboard are done without; the XR-V gets plain plastics instead.

The interior does with traditional plastics and a flat center tunnel.

The XR-V, which is made by the Dongfeng Honda joint venture (the Guangzhou Honda JV makes the Vezel), is offered with two engine options. The base engine is a 1.5-liter petrol while the higher end variants get a 1.8-liter petrol. Both engines can be had with manual or CVT gearboxes. The Chinese media report that the XR-V is, for now, only available as a front wheel drive model.
