The Hyundai AH2 is reportedly set to revive the Hyundai Santro nameplate in India.

The Hyundai AH2 is reportedly the successor to the Hyundai Santro. Needless to say, it will have a more contemporary design than its predecessor. Also, it will be bigger in size, resulting in improved cabin space. The Hyundai Santro Xing was 3,565 mm long, 1,525 mm wide and 1,590 mm tall. It had a 2,380 mm wheelbase. Hyundai is yet to officially announce the name of the upcoming hatchback.

HMIL's plant in Chennai produced the first unit of the AH2's engine in October. A diesel engine option is highly unlikely for this budget car. In addition to a (5-speed) manual transmission, Hyundai will offer an automated manual transmission - a first for any of its models in India.
