Hyundai Creta AT confirmed, snapped - Report
Creta will get a torque-converter AT in addition to manual gearboxes.
Seen here is an image of the automatic transmission on a Hyundai Creta, confirming the feature for the compact SUV. However, it remains to be seen if the Creta AT is exclusive to a particular fuel type, or is offered in both petrol and diesel guise like the Verna.
The Creta is reported to borrow its 1.6-liter VTVT and 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engines from the Verna, while a 1.4-liter CRDi paired to a 6-speed manual transmission will also be offered on a base variant, reportedly.
On the Verna, Hyundai offers the 1.6-liter engines with a 4-speed automatic transmission aside from a manual gearbox. It would be interesting to see if the Creta carries over this 4-speed unit, or opts for a 6-speed AT which is available on the Elantra.
The market launch of the Creta is confirmed for July 21, 2015. Features seen on the India-spec Creta include projector headlights with daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, a chrome-garnished rear registration plate enclosure, steering mounted audio and telephone controls, a touchscreen infotainment system, push button start with keyless entry, automatic climate control and the "Advanced Supervision Cluster" borrowed from the Elite i20.
More details on the Hyundai Creta are expected in the coming days.
