Hyundai Creta to enter production in Russia in Q3 2016

Will be Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Russia's second locally-built vehicle.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus introduced the Hyundai Creta in Russia yesterday. The Hyundai Creta will be the company's second locally-built model after the Hyundai Solaris (Hyundai Accent) in the country, and be built on the latter's production line at the Saint-Petersburg plant in Q3 2016.

The Hyundai Creta will be built alongside the Hyundai Solaris (Hyundai Accent) at the Saint-Petersburg plant.

The Hyundai Creta will be available in three trim levels in Russia: Start, Active and Comfort. Body-coloured door handles, 16-inch steel wheels, 205/65 R16 tyres, audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity, dual-front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) + EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) are standard features.

The Hyundai Creta will be available with two engine options in Russia. The base engine is a 1.6-litre MPi petrol engine that produces 123 hp at 6,300 rpm and 150.7 Nm of torque at 4,850 rpm. Moving up the range, there's a 2.0-litre MPi petrol engine that develops 149.6 hp 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.

The Hyundai Creta will be available in Russia with 123 hp 1.6-litre and 149.6 hp 2.0-litre petrol engines.

In the Start trim level, the 1.6-litre engine, front-wheel drive drivetrain layout and 6-speed manual transmission are standard. In the Active trim level, this engine can be opted with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Comfort trim level offers option of both engines, along with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions, but only the 2.0-litre engine model can be had with an all-wheel drive system.
