Has already received 15,000 bookings in India.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) launched the Creta compact SUV in the domestic market this week, with prices starting at INR 8.59 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. The car maker had already announced at the preview of the Creta that it will export the compact SUV to overseas markets, though it did not underline these markets.

The Creta also adds the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission.

A report on Reuters quotes Byungkwon Rhim, senior vice president at Hyundai's international sales division, who says that Hyundai's global sales network and channel partners are "strongly demanding" for the Creta. Initially, the India-made Creta will be exported to markets in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. In 2015, HMIL plans on exporting 13,000 units of the Creta to these markets, the report states.

The Creta has already received over 15,000 bookings in India, within a short span of 20 days. It is available with three engine options - two diesel and one petrol - and two gearbox choices. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual, whereas a 6-speed automatic is offered on the SX+ variant of the 1.6-liter diesel version.

ABS and EBD are standard features on the Creta.
