India-made Hyundai Creta launched as Hyundai Cantus in Dominican Republic - IAB Report

Hyundai has introduced the Hyundai Creta in the Dominican Republic, but has decided to call it the 'Hyundai Cantus' for that market. It is available with one petrol engine and two diesel variants.

Some of the noteworthy exterior features include projector headlamps, triple-slat chrome radiator grille, piano-black finish A-pillar.

The exterior of the Cantus features a ”Hive structure” body shell that is made from Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS). Inside, it features a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth, premium leather upholstery and a 7.0-inch AVN touchscreen display. Other equipment include automatic climate control, electric side mirrors, rear AC vents, push button start and audio system with six speakers.

Inside, the Hyundai Cantus is as feature packed as its Indian counterpart, the Hyundai Creta.

The petrol variant packs a 1.6-liter Dual VTVT engine that produces 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The brochure also lists the two diesel engine options: 1.4-liter CRDi and 1.6-liter CRDi engines, which produce 90 PS / 220 Nm and 128 PS / 259 Nm, respectively.
