Hyundai India rolls out price increase

Update - Hyundai Motor India announced today that it will increase prices across its product portfolio by INR 3,000-20,000 to offset increased raw material costs and depreciation of the rupee. The price increase comes into effect from August 16, 2016.

To be effective from September, reportedly.

According to Team-BHP member, RavenAvi, Hyundai India will hike prices of the Hyundai Creta by INR 15,000 from September 2016. Hyundai regularly revises its product price list in Q3 of every year, which is attributed to fluctuations in operational and manufacturing costs.

With this regard, Hyundai has sent an email to its dealer principals appraising them of the forthcoming price hike.

Currently, the Creta is priced between INR 9.17 Lakhs - 14.51 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi). The company has urged dealers to place orders for the Creta at the earliest in order to avoid the scheduled price hike, according to the email text which can be viewed at the source link. Other models in the product range are also expected to receive a price hike in Q3 2016.

The Creta is celebrating its first anniversary this month, and Hyundai have commemorated the feat by launching a first anniversary edition of the compact SUV. Since its launch, Hyundai sold 78,857 units of the Hyundai Creta till May 2016. Recently, the Creta range was expanded with launch of petrol automatic model and extending the availability of automatic transmission in the lower S+ diesel grade.

The Hyundai Creta is available with 1.4- and 1.6-liter CRDi diesel engines and a 1.6-liter VTVT petrol engine. All engine variants are equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard while a 6-speed AT is optional in the petrol and 1.6-liter diesel models.
