The sixth generation Hyundai Elantra (Hyundai Avante) was unveiled in September 2015. According to a report from Top Rider, it will get a facelift in South Korea in August 2018.

The 2019 Hyundai Elantra will feature turn indicators at the front and rear on the bumpers, not inside the headlamps or tail lamps.

The sixth-gen Hyundai Elantra will gain a slew of changes with its mid-cycle refresh. Revisions to the design at the front will include incorporation of the brand’s new signature Cascading grille in place of the angular hexagonal grille, tweaks to the headlamps and relocation of the front turn indicators to the bumper in a way similar to the 2018 Kia K3 (2019 Kia Forte).

At the rear, also in a way similar to the 2018 Kia K3, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra will feature turn indicators fitted separately, on the bumper. The current Hyundai Elantra’s rear turn signals are integrated into its tail lamps. While Hyundai usually moves the license plate recess from the bumper to the boot lid/tailgate with mid-cycle refreshes in its cars, the opposite is planned for the new Hyundai Elantra. The report says that the license plate recess will get relocated to the bumper.

The Hyundai Elantra is available with a variety of petrol and diesel engines in displacements ranging from 1.4- to 2.0-litre. With the mid-cycle refresh, it will gain the SmartStream G1.6 petrol engine and the SmartStream IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission), both of which debuted in the 2018 Kia K3. The SmartStream G1.6 petrol engine develops 123 PS at 6,300 rpm and 15.7 kg.m (154 Nm) of torque at 4,500 rpm. ‘IVT’ is essentially Hyundai’s branding for its newly-developed CVT.

The Hyundai Elantra will gain the 2018 Kia K3's SmartStream G1.6 engine and SmartStream IVT with the mid-cycle refresh.
