Hyundai Elite i20 will be offered with a touchscreen system from July - Report
To be equipped in top-end variants.
Given that rivals like the upcoming Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt offer touchscreen-based infotainment systems, this has, reportedly, prompted Hyundai to equip the hot selling Hyundai Elite i20 with said feature in top-spec models starting from next month.
The unit will most likely be identical to the 7-inch LCD touchscreen unit with hands-free Bluetooth system found in the Euro-spec i20. No other changes have been reported for the Hyundai Elite i20 in the near future.
The Indian market has been receptive towards models that offer such equipment for a very competitive price. The upcoming Honda Jazz will bank on this interest, as well as practicality and a diesel option to steal the Hyundai's Elite i20's thunder. So it's no coincidence that HMIL is, reportedly, planning on adding such an option now, rather than at the model's launch.

At the moment, the only hatchback in the segment to feature a touchscreen-based infotainment system is the Tata Bolt, which is only offered as standard equipment in the XT variant. This will soon be joined by the Hyundai i20 and the upcoming Honda Jazz for this year. It's unclear if this feature will extend to the Hyundai i20 Active crossover too.
