Hyundai Grand i10 diesel variants taken off the shelves
Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has discontinued the diesel variants of the Grand i10. The latest development doesn't come as a surprise since the launch of the all-new Grand i10 Nios leaves a tighter room for the Grand i10's survival. The second-gen i10 is now positioning as a strictly affordable offering for the first time car buyers. On the other hand, the Grand i10 Nios has been targeted as a premium hatchback which carries forward the legacy of the Grand i10 in its new iconic avatar.
The Hyundai Grand i10 will be now available with the existing 1.2-litre petrol engine option in regular (petrol) and bi-fuel (CNG/petrol) avatars. The petrol engine in question has been rated to deliver 83 PS of maximum power and 114 Nm of peak torque, while in the bi-fuel form, it is rated to churn out 81.6 PS/110 Nm on petrol, and 66.3 PS/98 Nm on CNG modes. Both the fuel variants feature a 5-speed manual transmission. While the petrol variant is now available only in Sportz and Magna trims, the CNG version is available exclusively in the Sportz variant.
With the top-end Asta trim deleted, the Hyundai Grand i10 now loses out on features such as alloy wheels, rear wash wiper, push-button start, auto climate control and a height adjustable driver seat. However, the Sportz trim continues to offer features like power-folding ORVMs, rear parking camera and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

With major revisions in the Grand i10's model line-up, prices of the hatchback now range in a bracket of INR 5.83 - 6.50 lakh*. The new model is positioned just above the Santro, which retails in the INR 4.30 - 5.79 lakh* range.
