Spied - Hyundai Grand i10 sedan and 2014 Santa Fe snapped up-close

With its launch scheduled in 2014, Hyundai is still testing the Grand i10 sedan as seen in these spyshots shared by our friends at Motor Vikatan. The spyshots reveal both the Grand i10 sedan and the Santa Fe, with some crucial details.

Indicator bulb above the wheel arch, VTVT badge, darkened B-Pillar and missing door moulding unique to the compact sedan.

The Grand i10 sedan gets the same dashboard and seats used on the hatchback avatar. It will also retain the 1.2-liter Kappa VTVT engine. Visible changes can be seen from the C-pillar onwards, where it takes a different form.

Nose, doors and pillars are from the Grand i10.

The Grand i10 sedan has also been spied with an automatic transmission, and the variant is doing the rounds with imaginably the same four-speed automatic gearbox used on the Grand i10. As for the manual, it will (likely) be the same five-speed configuration as in the Grand i10 hatchback, given that cost-saving is a huge priority for Hyundai.

The spyshots also reveal the 2014 Santa Fe. Spied testing here is a five-seater version (can accommodate two jump seats in the luggage compartment), as seen clearly by the rear quarter glass that slopes upwards as compared to the one in the seven-seater version which is flatter. The larger Santa Fe is not available in RHD layout, and may not be expected in India even in the future.

The Santa Fe assigned for India is the short wheelbase version, confirmed by this spyshot.

We expect to hear more on these two launches shortly, so stay tuned to IndianAutosBlog.com.
