Hyundai Motors India Ltd., the largest exporter of cars in the country, has stepped up the exports of the brisk selling Hyundai Grand i10 Sedan (Xcent in India) to emerging markets. The sedan was recently launched in Nepal and Mexico, and has now been showcased in Ghana ahead of an imminent launch.
The sedan which is made only in India will be imported into Ghana by Autoplaza Ltd., the South Korean automaker's official importer for the African nation. The model, painted in red, was displayed in Ghana on a road show in the capital city of Accra.
Ghana will receive only the petrol variants of the sub 4 metre sedan which is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder Kappa engine which is good for 83 PS (81.83 bhp) and 113.68 Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic transmission is available as an option, if the Ghanian market demands it.
